What are IPF GL points?
IPF GL points (Goodlift points) put lifters of different bodyweights on one scale, so a 60 kg and a 100 kg lifter can be ranked against each other by how strong they are relative to their weight.
How the score works
GL points are calculated from your total and your bodyweight using a sex-, equipment- and event-specific formula. The scale is normalised so that a world-class performance lands around 100 points.
Higher is better. A 95-point total is elite; most competitive national-level lifters sit in the 70–90 range.
Why GL replaced Wilks
The IPF replaced the Wilks coefficient with its own IPF Formula in 2019, then adopted IPF GL Points in 2020. GL is recalibrated on modern IPF results, so it reflects the current competitive field more accurately than the older Wilks numbers.
Reading the Dutch leaderboard
Our leaderboard ranks Dutch lifters by their best GL points from their three-lift total (squat + bench + deadlift). Because the score is bodyweight-adjusted, the top of the board mixes light and heavy lifters — that is the point.
